How to use lined paper
Evenly spaced horizontal rules, at college (7.1 mm) or wide (8.7 mm) spacing, with a date line and a page number.
Step by step
- 1Match the spacing to the handwriting. College rule suits small, practised handwriting. Wide rule gives younger writers and larger hands more room.
- 2Write on the line, not the margin. Keep text inside the ruled area. If you are binding the sheets, the inside margin is where the holes or the spine go.
- 3Print a stack, or bind a book. Print one sheet at a time for notes, or set a ruling and a page count in the journal maker to bind a whole notebook.
