How to solve a word scramble

The method
- 1Scan for common patterns. Look for familiar beginnings and endings (ING, ED, TH, ST) hiding in the jumble, and build out from them.
- 2Group the vowels. Pull the vowels out and see how many syllables the word can have; that narrows the shapes it could take.
- 3Say it aloud. Trying the letters out loud often lands the word faster than staring at them.
- 4Check the answer page. Every word is one whose letters spell a single common word, so there is exactly one answer to find.
