The method

1Read the consonants aloud. Sounding out the consonant skeleton often reveals the word before you have placed a single vowel.
2Use the word lengths. The blanks keep the spacing, so the number of letters and words is a strong clue to the phrase.
3Start with short words. Little words like THE, AND and OF fall quickly and anchor the longer ones around them.
4Check the answer page. The full phrase is printed at the back, so you can confirm the vowels you chose.
