What size are the images?

The default is 3000 by 2250 pixels, a 4:3 landscape, which is the shape Etsy recommends and the one its desktop search thumbnails use. You can switch to 2400 by 2400 (square, the mobile thumbnail crop) or 2000 by 2500 (4:5 portrait). Every option clears the 2000-pixel minimum on the shortest side.

Do my files get uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is read and drawn in your browser, and the listing images are made there too. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and closing the tab clears it all.

Can I choose which pages appear on each image?

Yes. In the Images step, open any image to see its scene choices, the page slots the scene uses, such as the page on the tablet or the five fanned pages, and the heading and line under it. Click any loaded page to put it in a slot. You can also turn images off or add more to the set.

Can I use my own colours or a photo behind the mockups?

Yes. In the Look step, pick a colour of your own or add a photo, then dim it until the words read clearly. Every image also has sliders for the size and position of its mockup and the size of its words, in the Images step.

Can I put my pages into a photo of my own desk?

Yes. Add a photo of blank sheets on a desk as a photo scene. The tool finds the sheets, prints your pages on them in the photo's own perspective, keeps its light and shadow, and leaves a hand or a pen on top. Drag the corners if a sheet needs fitting by hand. A set can hold three photo scenes.

Which files can I use?

A PDF, or PNG, JPG and WebP page images, up to 40 pages in total. The tool reads the first 24 pages of a PDF and uses the first page as the cover. For a longer book it still shows the true page count.

Can I use the images somewhere other than Etsy?

Yes. They are plain JPG or PNG files, so they work on Gumroad, Payhip, Creative Fabrica, Amazon or your own shop. Only the sizes are tuned to Etsy.

How to make the listing images

1Add your book. Pick the PDF you sell, or its page images, or try the sample book. The first page becomes the cover. Nothing leaves your browser.
2Choose the images and their scenes. Ten listing images are on to start. Open any one to change its scene, the pages it shows or the words on it. Turn one off, add more, or add a photo of your own desk.
3Set the words. Type the title and badge, the page count, the file format, the paper size and the highlights.
4Pick the look. Choose a preset, then tune the font, colour scheme, backdrop and image shape. Every image redraws as you go.
5Download the set. Choose JPG or PNG and download every image as one zip, or one at a time, then add them to your listing in the order they are numbered.

What a digital listing on Etsy needs

A listing holds up to 10 photos and one video. Etsy asks for at least 2000 pixels on the shortest side, in JPG, PNG or GIF, and shows the first photo cropped to 4:3 in desktop search and square in the app, so the cover and the title belong in the middle of the hero image. A digital listing also carries an instant download badge and lists the file types under its highlights, which is why the set here spells out the file, the page count and the paper size, and ends with a plain notice that nothing is shipped.
