Handwriting practice paper to print
Handwriting practice paper uses three lines per row: a baseline, a dashed midline and a top line, spaced for early writers. It is the ruling teachers use for letter formation, printed at Letter size with room for a name and date. Print a sheet for each practice session.

How to use handwriting practice paper
Rows of three guide lines, a top line, a dashed midline and a baseline, so letters land at the right height.
Step by step
- 1Sit letters on the baseline. Every letter rests on the solid bottom line. Nothing floats above it or dips below it except descenders.
- 2Use the dashed midline for height. Short letters reach the dashed line. Tall letters reach the top line. The dashes show a child exactly how high to go.
- 3Let tails drop below the baseline. Letters like g, y and p hang their tails into the space below, which the next row leaves room for.
- Spacing by age
- Wider rows suit early writers and narrower rows suit older children, so pick the spacing to the year group.
- Good for
- Early years, handwriting lessons and letter formation practice.
