How to make and sell Binairo books on Amazon KDP

Binairo is a binary-logic puzzle: a grid of 0s and 1s you fill under three simple rules. It sells on Amazon KDP as a thin-shelf niche, which is the point. Fewer publishers make a good Binairo book than make sudoku, because a valid one needs a solver, and that's the advantage if you have one. This guide walks the path, and you can make your first grid free in a browser first.
What Binairo is, in one paragraph
You fill the grid with 0s and 1s so that no row or column has three of the same value in a row, each row and column holds an equal count of 0s and 1s, and no two rows and no two columns are identical. It's sold as Takuzu or Binary Puzzles too, so those are keywords worth using. Like every puzzle book, it's a low-content book: the value is in the graded grids and their solutions, not prose.
The rule solvers care about most is the one you can't see: every grid must have exactly one solution. The studio proves that for each grid before it prints, which is what separates a book that gets kept from one that gets returned.
Step 1: pick a size and an audience
"Binairo" is too broad. A niche is a size plus a reader: gentle 6 by 6 and 8 by 8 grids for someone new to the puzzle, or 12 by 12 and 14 by 14 for a solver who wants a long sitting. Name it so the book is obviously for one person.
Step 2: make the puzzles
Try the free Binairo generator first. Pick a size, press generate, and you'll get a printable grid with its solution, no sign-up. It's the same solver the studio uses. You can also browse printable Binairo to see the sizes.
For a whole book, the KDP Binairo maker generates hundreds of graded grids, proves each one solvable by logic alone, and builds the solutions section at the back. You unlock a project once and re-export it freely.
Step 3: get the interior specs right
Most first books fail review on the interior. Every KDP paperback needs correct margins, a gutter margin that grows with the page count, and bleed if anything reaches the page edge. The studio sizes it per trim and preflights the file against KDP's rules before you upload, so problems are caught early.
Step 4: make a cover and list it
The studio exports a print-ready wraparound cover alongside the interior PDF, sized to your page count. For the listing, put the size and the alternate names in the title, like "Binairo Puzzles (Takuzu), 150 Grids, 12x12", fill the keyword slots, and pick two categories.
A realistic first project
Make one free grid to see the output. Pick a size, generate around 120 graded grids with solutions in the studio, export at a common trim, make a simple cover, and upload. The earning comes from a shelf of focused books. The nonogram niche works the same way if you want a second line: see how to make and sell nonogram books on KDP.

Questions parents ask
- Do Binairo books sell on Amazon KDP?
- Yes, as a thin-shelf logic niche. Binairo (also sold as Takuzu or Binary Puzzles) has a smaller but steady audience and few good books competing. A clear grid size and a clean solutions section carry a book here.
- What is Binairo?
- A grid you fill with 0s and 1s under three rules: never three of the same in a row or column, an equal count of each per line, and no two rows or two columns identical. It solves by logic, like a binary cousin of sudoku.
- Does every Binairo need one solution?
- Yes. Every grid the studio makes is proved to have exactly one solution, and in fact to be reachable by logic with no guessing, before it reaches a page.
- What grid sizes work for a Binairo book?
- Binairo grids have even sides. The studio grades by size from 6 by 6 up to 14 by 14; 10 by 10 and 12 by 12 are comfortable book sizes. Pick one per book.
