Answer

Should my planner be daily, weekly or monthly?

Updated 23 September 2026

Weekly is the most popular and the easiest to sell: a week to a spread balances detail against page count. Pick daily for hour-by-hour readers, and expect a quarterly book. Pick monthly for a light, cheap, evergreen planner.

The reader picks the layout. Someone who plans by the hour needs a daily page with a schedule column, someone juggling a household or a business wants a week to a spread, and a big-picture planner is happy with a month to a spread. Match the layout to how the buyer thinks about time and the book almost designs itself.

A monthly grid also makes the safest undated evergreen, since it prints light and never expires. The planner maker builds all three layouts, and planner niches that sell pairs each layout with the readers it fits.
