How to use a daily planner
One page per day, often with an hourly schedule down one side and a to-do or notes column beside it.
Step by step
- 1Schedule the hours you control. Put meetings and blocks of focused work against the hours on the timeline, and leave gaps you can protect.
- 2Keep one short to-do list. Use the task column for the day only. A long list belongs on a weekly or monthly page, not on today.
- 3Close the day, then turn the page. Tick what is done, carry the rest to tomorrow, and start the next page fresh.
- A daily book is a quarter, not a year
- A page a day fills over 365 pages, past the point the gutter widens twice, so daily planners usually cover three months.
- Good for
- People who plan by the hour: appointment-heavy days, deep-work schedules and time-blocking.
Making a whole planner?
This page makes one day. To publish a planner, the planner maker compiles any date range into month spreads, week spreads or a page a day, at any trim, as a print-ready 300 DPI interior and a wraparound cover. Set it up once, export any size.

Questions
- Is this printable daily planner free?
- Yes. Print the page above or save it as a PDF, at no cost and with no sign-up. It is free for home, classroom and office use.
- Are the dates correct?
- Yes. Every date is computed from the Gregorian calendar, so the 1st of each month lands on the right weekday, leap years are handled, and a six-row month keeps its sixth row. The week starts on Monday on this page.
- Can I make a whole planner to sell?
- Yes. The free tool makes one page: a month, a week or a day. Publisher Studio compiles any date range into a bound planner, with month spreads, week spreads or a page a day, opens every spread on a left-hand page, sizes the gutter for the page count, and exports a print-ready 300 DPI interior and a wraparound cover.
