What size should a KDP word search book be?
Updated 14 September 2026
For large print, 8.5 by 11 inches is the most common and buyer-friendly trim, with 8 by 10 a close second. Smaller trims like 6 by 9 work for compact books but leave less room for a readable grid.
The trim size decides how much room the grid has, and readability is the whole selling point in large print. Pick one trim and design the interior to it.
The margins, gutter and resolution matter as much as the trim. See KDP word search interior specs for the numbers, and Publisher Studio exports any KDP trim from one book.
