How many puzzles should a word search book have?
Updated 14 September 2026
Most word search books run 40 to 100 puzzles, each with an answer key. Around 80 puzzles at a large-print size is a common, well-reviewed length that still prints at a comfortable page count.
Too few puzzles feels thin; too many pushes up the page count and the print cost. Around 80 is a reliable middle for a large-print book. Every puzzle needs its own answer key.
Generating and de-duplicating that many grids by hand is the slow part. Publisher Studio builds them from a word bank so no two puzzles repeat.
