## One answer, every time

What makes a word scramble book worth printing is that no scramble is ambiguous. Every word is checked to be the only common word its letters spell, so a solver is never stuck between two valid answers. The unscrambled list prints as the answer key.

## How to solve a word scramble

Each line is a real word with its letters jumbled. Rearrange them to find the word. Every scramble has one sensible answer, printed at the back.

### The method

1. Scan for common patterns. Look for familiar beginnings and endings (ING, ED, TH, ST) hiding in the jumble, and build out from them.
2. Group the vowels. Pull the vowels out and see how many syllables the word can have; that narrows the shapes it could take.
3. Say it aloud. Trying the letters out loud often lands the word faster than staring at them.
4. Check the answer page. Every word is one whose letters spell a single common word, so there is exactly one answer to find.
