## How to solve a number pyramid

Fill every brick so each one equals the sum of the two bricks directly beneath it, working up to the single brick on top.

### The method

1. Add upward where you can. When two side-by-side bricks are both filled, the brick resting on them is just their sum.
2. Subtract downward where you can. If a brick and one of the two beneath it are known, the other one below is the brick minus the known neighbour.
3. Chase the forced bricks. Each number you fill unlocks its neighbours. Keep alternating add-up and subtract-down until the pyramid is full.
4. Check the top. The apex equals the sum of the whole bottom row by its weights, so a correct bottom row always lands on the printed top number.

**The one rule**

Every brick is the sum of the two directly below it.
