## How to use story paper

### Step by step

1. Draw the scene first. A child draws the moment in the box at the top, which gives them the picture to write about.
2. Write the sentence below. On the guide lines under the picture, they write one or two sentences that tell what is happening.
3. Build a book page by page. Each sheet is one page of a story, so a stack of them becomes a first book the child made.

**Picture before words**

Drawing first gives a reluctant writer something concrete to describe, so the sentence comes easier.
